About

VolleyWood — a community that grew into a portal

For years VolleyWood has been bringing Cyprus volleyball players together: games, tournaments and new friends on court. It all used to live in group chats and spreadsheets — now it’s in one place: sign-up, pairs, schedules, scores and every player’s history.

For players

Play, don’t organise

One-click sign-up, partner search, your own match schedule, live scores and personal stats: where you played, with whom and how it went.

For organisers

A tournament in 10 minutes

A format builder, automatic draw and court schedule, a match-day control panel and results at the press of a button.

For referees

A scoreboard on your phone

Score, serves, side switches, time-outs and cards — the match sheet writes itself and spectators see the score instantly.

New

Live streaming of tournaments

The organiser switches filming on in the tournament settings and pastes a YouTube stream link. The portal does the rest: the stream appears on the tournament page, with a scoreboard over the video that the referee keeps up to date.

  • Live video on the tournament page and the page of the match being played, with a separate player for each court
  • A scoreboard with the score, sets, serve and change of sides right in the picture: no manual graphics, the referee just scores the match
  • The broadcast starts and ends together with the stream: the organiser has nothing to press
  • After the tournament every match has a recording that starts where the match began
  • Players see in advance that the tournament is filmed and can choose not to enter

What the portal can already do

  • Beach: pairs 2×2, triples 3×3, fours 4×4 and King of the Beach
  • Indoor 6×6 and 4×4 under FIVB rules: line-ups, substitutions, libero
  • Groups and playoffs, round robin, single elimination, double elimination, Swiss system
  • Ready-made teams and draft teams — the organiser builds them by hand or automatically
  • Find a partner or players for your team right on the tournament page
  • Referees, second referees and scorers; a match sheet and stats for every match
